What is a worldwide coverage territory?
The General and Professional Liability coverage has a Worldwide Coverage Territory. This means that coverage is extended for negligent acts, errors, omissions, or accidents that occur anywhere in the world, but only if the claim is filed in the United States, its possessions and territories or Puerto Rico.
· If a claim or lawsuit is filed outside the United States, coverage would not apply because you are a U.S. resident and company. If an international resident/client files a lawsuit against you or your operations in their country, there is no international law forcing you to comply or pay because you are not a registered business or a citizen in that country.
· If a claim or lawsuit is filed in the United States, your policy would respond to that suit.
If you have any operations outside the United States or are concerned about your international exposure, we recommend placing a Foreign Liability policy with a local insurance agent.
